Bill, Like you I have seen and allowed screws[brass] and other softer-than- string material. Maybe I sounded a bit high handed but as I recall, the "Crumb"y piece called for a chisel to be dragged along the strings. I couldn't see how it could be performed w/o damage to one of two concert venues(this is a small pond, afterall). Conrad
