A technician in Grants Pass, OR stumped me when asking for advice on an unusual agraffe she encountered. Any help would be appreciated!! The piano is a 1930 McPhail grand. The top head of the agraffe looks like a flat head screw with a slot for a screwdriver blade. There is a "pellet" shaped piece of brass that fits into the back concave portion of the agraffe forming the bearing point. Any suggestions on how to replace and hold the brass "pellet" that fell out when the string tension was lowered? Also any suggestions or precautions when lowering tension on the strings. Thanks!!
