The ultrahigh speed photography was shown by Kimball, if memory serves.
The same photographic techniques showed clearly that, in upright actions, the
sole fundtion
of the bridle tape is to assist the technician in removing/installing the
action.
BTW, the visualizationI gained from watching the hammer shank flex to
such a
surpring degree has encouraged me to voice successfully bass notes by sanding
the hammer shanks.
