Bill, If it works for you that's fine. We find that we can get the leather tighter by regluing and using the clamp as I described to press the leather in towards the juncture of the knuckle and the shank at the core. Try one and see if you like it or not. Emily, has also found that the leather stays tighter longer this way. We will bolster on the bottom if it is worn flat, so we are not opposed to bolstering.
