Alan Eder of California Institute for the Arts has made an excellent video on prepared pianos called "Non-Traditional Piano Use". The video shows what is safe to do and what is not safe. It is based on Richard Bunger's book "The Well Prepared Piano". You may find it useful to have this video around to show faculty how to safely prepare the designated piano. It will increase the credibility of what you tell them (you know -- someone else is always the expert). The video will be shown at the CAUT Forum at the New England/Eastern Canada Regional Seminar on Sunday morning, May 5th. I also have copies of it for sale.
