Douglas Richards Douglas, Well, maybe "ruin" was a little strong, although it is possible. My experience with graphite on knuckles has been with the graphite stick type. It was usually applied to knuckles with that terrible covering that was used for awhile and/or to knuckles that were worn out in an attempt to "get by" for awhile longer. It seemed to work for a while, but eventually, it "gunks up" and makes the letoff even more jerky than it was before. I, personally, just do not like the potential for damage and mess that that type of graphite on knuckles can create. _____________________________________ Avery Todd, RPT Moore's School of Music University of Houston Houston, TX 77204-4893 713-743-3226 atodd@uh.edu _____________________________________
