Randy,
We have seen this being done in severaly European factories with
a file, so it is common there. Also, David Sanderson is doing it ot his
strings which he makes and sells under the name of AccuString. A catchy
name - wonder where he got tht Accu idea? Anyway, you can talk to him about
it as he has done quite a bit of experimenting, especially with adjusting
the ends of the windings to control inharmonicity.
