We here at Rutgers have a Regier fortepiano representative of instruments made
from about 1790 to 1810. This piano gets yanked up and pushed down not only by
humidity that ranges from 16 to 86% but also by myself and some players from
430 to 440. So far, knock wo(head)od no broken strings.
Changing pitch should be the least of the technical concerns.
