I have been using the Abel hammers from Wally Brooks in such settings.
They have a very warm open bass and a nicely pointed treble but not
overwhelming. They are easy to voice and provide ample power. I will be
rebuilding my M&H A this summer and intend to use those hammers for it. Wally
does a nice job of hanging hammers and new shanks at a very reasonable price.
