Don:
I will be happy to tell this story once I figure out how to tell it
without getting a bad case of hoof in mouth. I think it's kind of funny
myself, but I fear that whatever I put in print could possibly be used
in reviews of the book. I don't want to contradict the author as he was
very kind in NOT using things for this book he could have! I had
started to tell the story in my post, but deleted it before sending it,
because it dawned on me just how difficult it is to write about someone
else, especially someone well-known that you like, and not make them
look like something they don't want to read about themselves. After all,
he did extend this courtesy to me. At least I can own up to being the
person he wrote about. He certainly could have done a piece on
rompin, stompin piano technicians had he wanted to! Maybe I'm
just too full of myself. But I do recollect us arguing a LOT at this
meeting. Since I did not know him from Adam, pardon the pun, I really
let him have it. I'm not a morning person and I get extreme heat
sickness in the summer so I start my first call at 6:00 am. This was
when the first encounter took place, so you can imagine my demeanor. He
was unusually inquisitive for your average customer, and challenged
everything I tried to tell him. We got into it over his cat!
Apparently though, he must have believed me, as he devotes Chapter 6,
to this encounter. From my point of view, I am delighted that what he
heard is what I thought I said!

If folks are really interested, I'll try to write something acceptable!
