re: > > Perhaps we could stick to piano technology, our area of expertise. and other similar comments. As a lurker, I sense that my opinion on this matter should carry less weight than those who actually contribute so much of value to this group, but I do feel compelled to chime in with an opinion. I find it quite sad and puzzling the way that there always seems to be, on this group especially, someone to put a foot down the minute the conversation drifts ever so slightly from pure piano technology. This even extends to people shutting up others for exchanging a few jokes! I have many interests, and have spent some time reading and contributing to many newgroups and boards; I've never seen such an uptight, unhuman attitude. I think the underlying fear, namely that the group will disintegrate into political wrangling or meaningless chatter is really unfounded. Everyone here seems to greatly appreciate the tech-talk, and I am sure that that will always remain the overwhelming focus of conversation. I am a veteran of ten years of PTG meetings. I enjoyed them greatly. I learned an enormous amount of piano tech, that is what made up 90% of what we talked about. But I also had the opportunity to get to know whole human beings, their humor, their other interests, their personality. I think this is precious, and I suggest that such an atmosphere be allowed to flourish here. just my opinion,,, _tom p.s. good work ben! I too, support your efforts.
