Hi, David, Check the height of the hammer center pin and subtract that from the string heights, this will give you the proper bore distance. This is a modern piano with a modern action and should be set up so the hammer moulding is 90 degrees to the shank and should strike the string on axis. If you cannot get satisfaction from the factory rep, go to the factory itself, they may send you a new set of hammers and shanks glued up properly. Have a nice week, Newton nhunt@rci.rutgers.edu
