I received this post from a new "listener" on the list and felt it
offered a view of how we may intimidate others with our erudite
knowledge and manner.  I asked his permission to forward the message.
He shall remain anonymous until he chooses to identify himself.

BTW, have you noticed that it is the most knowledgeable among us who
are also the most gentle and take time to be understanding?
