Shift-Caused Damping Problems-

Dear Tom,

     There is one common part shared by the dampers and hammers, sir.

     Have you considered that the keys shift, too? You are shifting the
contact point between the key-end felt and the underlever assembly. Is there
uneven, dished, or cupped felt here? Is the action shifting forward & back as
well as side-to-side (moving the keys away from the underlever?) Take a hard
look at those felts!

     Can't think of anything else that might be causing the problem.
