If there are any blind piano tuners or "would be" piano tuners on
this list, you may be interested in the following vourse run by my
College, the Royal National College for the Blind, in Hereford, UK.

RNC Hereford is the UK's centre of excellence in training people who
are Blind or Partially Sighted in piano tuning and repairs.

The diploma programme prepares you for self- employment or employment
as a Piano Tuner Technician. No formal qualifications are required, but prior
musical knowledge or craft skills would be an advantage.

The majority of leavers enter employment in the music industry or self-
employment. Some students have also diversified into piano sales and
renovation.

The programme includes: practice and theory of piano tuning, repairs,
maintenance, business skills, music, harpsichord tuning, construction
and history of the piano.

You will also have the chance to become involved with the
student-operated Piano Tuning business run from the College as well as
undertake worthwhile work experience outside the College.

If anyone is interested, they can contact the Senior Lecturer, Mike
Wigmore on +44 1432 265725 or E-mail mw@rncb.ac.uk
