Once when I finished tuning a piano in a home, since the owner was not in sight, to get her attention and signal that it was time to bring out the checkbook, I began playing the Chopin C major Etude. By the time I got down to about bar 24, she came in with checkbook and said: "Oh, do you play?". I lied and said "no Mam". I figured if that wasn't playing, I wasn't sure just what she had in mind. Some kinds of playing can get to be very expensive. Another time a customer came in while I was playing and said: "I'll give you just 2 hours to stop that." I didn't have 2 hrs to spare, but we both had a good laugh about that. Jim Coleman, Sr.
