Willem, Yep. If you can get the back action apart without breaking it into tiny, little, hard-to-put-together pieces, I'd suggest installing the barrel-type clamps found in later pianos. I've done this both with and without removing the threading, and have wound up preferring to leave the threading intact as, for me, it makes regulation easier.
