Missing bass string

Mapes in Tennessee might know the scale and could send you one..

You also didn't state whether it was a single from the low bass or part of a
pair.If it is the latter then just take some cotton or nylon twine and tie
one end around the hitch pin and the other around the tuning pin (stepping on
the sustain pedal and running the twine down behind the dampers from the top)
and when you have it secured make marks with a permanent marker as to where
the speaking length and such is, then take a micrometer and measure the
thickness of the "mate" string. (core and total thickness, obviously)

If it is a low single do the same with the twine except take micrometer
measurements of the strings on either side, then you can figure a thickness
in-between.

I wouldn't go through this much trouble for an Acrosonic (really, a universal
would be fine) but if you must "please the customer" then do so and charge
accordingly...

Good luck
