String Motion

I have done quite a bit of investigation into the motion of a string.  I
tried to attached a jpg file to this message but the server rejected it.  It
shows the motion of the string simultaneously in two independent planes.
The top trace is the struck direction and the bottom trace is the unstruck
plane.  It comes from a
monochord similar to the one that Jim Coleman was describing.

I can't write any more about it now since I have some work that has to be
