Hi all, I did mention early in this thread that strings wear grooves, flat spots, whatever, in bridge pins, and offered that as a possible explanation for this effect. (wild strings) rm Which makes me wonder what effect a groove in the capo bar or upper bearing ridge in an upright might have. And why is there a groove from one string and none on the next 7 or 8? Is the metal that flakey? Richard Moody
