Shellac Flakes

I purchase shellac flakes from Woodworker's Supply (800-645-9292). They 
sell 5 types put out by J.E. Moser. The orange flakes cost $11.95 per 
pound.

I've used thickly-mixed flakes for player piano work. It seals well, but 
takes forever to harden. I'll try burning some to see if there is a 
difference. I wonder why it isn't sold alreadt prepared?
