  Since you are talking about a Grand piano, does this make you a Grand Dame?

Chickerings, including, "quarter grands" came in many different iterations and
some were better than others.  Accordingly some turn out quite nicely and some
turn out not so nicely.  In any event most of the "quarter grands were "just
another little grand" when they were originally made, although there are
exceptions (as always), and will remain so when rebuilt unless some serious
work is done to alter some specs.  Is it worth rebuilding??? Yeah, probably,
at least as good as what the rebuilding fee would buy new unless an
exceptional buy was stumbled upon.
