A bit of extra info re: Lexan.tm.... Lexan is the bulletproof version of plexigless, and extremely expensive. One of the ways it acquires this unusual characteristic, bulletproof-ness, is by being somewhat flexible, and consequently may not provide the protection your customer seeks. As well, it is prone to scratching, as is plexi, and therefore, may not be the best choice for a floor application. In my experience, a piano resting on grand cups, will not damage the carpet.. squash it flat, yes, but unlessthe castor is rolling around, and perchance cutting the fibres or backing, mere pressure should not do any lasting damage. If you cover the whole carpet as suggested by one respondant, this would defeat the acoustic damping the rug would provide. If indeed the rug is sooo valuable, it might be best hung on a wall as a tapestry !! Just my 2 cents ( canadian ) worth. Jim Jim Kinnear, I.P.T.
