Warren Fisher wrote that the supply houses have a punch for driving broken tuning pins out of the block from the underside. I have been going through catalogs for 35 years now and do not remember seeing such a tool. When I was teaching Piano Technology in the sixties, full time, a student who was restringing a grand came to me somewhat upset and said he a driven a tuning pin into the block wrong end to, and wondered how we could get it out. After thinking about what we had fro tools I used a punch of some kind to drive the pin back out from the underside of the block. I had only known there was a tool available I could have saved myself and the students a bit of agrivation. Newton nhunt@rci.rutgers.edu
