IRC some remarks

Jan 27, 1997 is the date when our local chapter will be having a technical
on the internet. At some point in time during the meeting I will be logging
into the IRC room that John Musselwhite has been notifying everyone about
for the last year or so. His meets every Tues evening. Mine will be
occuring on a Monday evening, roughly some time around 7:30 PM PST, or 03:30
GMT 28 Jan 1997 for those of you in other parts of the planet. My technical
is covering the entire internet and so the IRC visit will most likely be
short. It would be nice to see some representation from around the world
when we log in, but I understand that the hour is a bit forbidding for some.
One can only hope!

I'll most likely have an outline that I will be doing my presentation from,
and if the rest of you are interested in giving such a technical for your
chapter, you can have my outline. If I get enough requests, or if the
pianotech-meister so bids, I shall submit the outline to the forum for all
to see.

Also, if any of you have done this before, or if some of you have had
thoughts about doing such a presentation, I could use some ideas, or
reminders of things I've overlooked. Here's a real quick overview of the
evening.

basics of computer operation, Dos, Windows, Mac, PC, software, shareware,
freeware, downloading, installing, usage,

The Internet, transfer of information, ISP's, websites and homepages
starting with the PTG Website (getting much better with age) and eventually
landing on my website, IRC, newsgroups and other internet activities
including listservers like this one.

IF any of you think I've missed anything major, I'm open for suggestions.
