david, yes you understand what im talking about with dealers.As far as bringing the middle section down is for people that totally refuse paying for a pitch raise and they only want to pay for a single tuning.Now this happens maybe once a year. Most clients can be convinced of there need for a double tuning and are willing to pay the extra money.My reason for dropping the middle is when you raise the treble to much, the treble is most likly to go out before you are finished.So by not raising the treble to much it will hold better without having to over it again, this way they can have a piano that will be somewhat playable.These cases are very rare but,i look at it this way,im already in the house and my time is already spent with travling,they probally are not going to call me back,if they havent had the piano tuned for 10 years and then dont want to pay for a pitch raise i will probally hear from them in another 10 years. jptuner nyc
