Hi Pat, before I moved here to the UK, I used to do a fair number of these pianos. One thing that occassionally happened was that the damper block which is glued to a wooden dowl with a metal incert for the set screw picks up some vibration as this metal insert loosens up within the block. It shows up as a buzz as the damper hits the string, but this doesn't sound like what you are describing. Is the buzzing in bass strings? I have found, in many cases rotating the offending strings in the direction that the winding points will fix this. Also, sometimes there's a bit of access glue somewhere causing a problem. Quite often, letting the string down briskly, thenbring it back to pitch firmly will also releave the problem. Good luck with it. regards On 1997-05-07 pianotech@byu.edu said: >Next week I will be regulating my first spinet. Are there any pit >falls I should be aware about?
