Hi Ed I usually apply the dye quite heavily and buff them out with a soft cotton cloth by hand BEFORE they are quite dry. I haven't found it necessary to use a wheel and haven't had any come off on my fingers once dry. Drying time is quite rapid since the vehicle is normally plain rubbing or isopropyl alcohol. The finish will not be a glossy finish unless you want to shoot them with clear laq after. I don't do this. If I want a gloss finish I simply replace them with plastic.
