One case of key leads swelling and rubbing adjacent keys. As a quick fix I filed them down, took less than an hour. DO NOT BREATH in the dust, or you will end up like old house painters, (if you do this every day). The customer was advised this was only temporary, but the piano was needed worse than the wait for new key leads so agreed to the procedure. Today I would have painted them with shellac after trimming them down. But that is just on a hunch. BTW, I don't remember being called to put in new key leads so maybe it was more than temporary.
