Recrowning

Hi Jim,
Please elaborate on your experiences.
I don't see how a soft spruce shim or two can re-establish
crown since it took the entire 'sound board and rib system'
to achieve it in the first place.
When I install shims, I open the crack with wedges from underneath
but only to help pinch the shim.
