Struts

Dear List,
     I tuned a Baldwin "D" today, about 30 years old.  When I looked down
the plate struts I saw a noticable bow to the left in all of them. I ran a
line down the side the way you would check for crown and noted at least 1/4"
gap on one and 1/2" gap on another. I checked underneath and didn't see
anything unusual.  Is this a sign of some really bad things to come or is
this normal?
