Kieth, et al, and list,

All plastics are not created equal, in porosity, thickness, durability,
density, color or type.

Plastic is not glass or metal. Glass and metal are non pourus whereas
plastic IS pourus. Consider the plastic soda bottle. Soda bottlers
know that CO2 travels THROUGH the plastic and thereby reducing the
carobonation of the drink. Therefore, they increase the CO2 to
compensate for the loss. CO2 molecules are very much larger than
silicone molecules.

The next time you are in the grocery store use you thunb and middle
finger to finger flick bottle of the same size but from different
companies. Lower pitched bottles have less CO2 pressure than higher
pitched bottles. If you want CO@ to last a long time get soda in cans.

Silicone, despite being a solid, have very little attraction for each
other, and so migrates EVERYWHERE. If you are using car wax with
silicone in it and the windows are open you will have detectable
silicone in the room furtherist from the car in no time flat.

I have not had silicone for twenty years and will not allow it in the
house or shop.
