Travis. Mostly American scales, but some for the likes of Bosendorfer, Bechstein, Bluthner, Yamaha and Kawai, too. Second edition was published in 1982. In case you don't recognize the name, Travis was/is one of the most highly respected, well-written and widely read names in American piano technology. His influence goes back a LONG way, and technicians past and present owe him a great debt of gratitude, not just for his technical contributions, but also for his efforts to organize the craft and estab- lish strict standards of competence and ethical conduct for its members.
