Dear List: Today I looked at a 50" piano in the style of Old uprights but of the size listed above. On the plate was Witton Wells, England. On the fallboard was witton, Witton & Co. London. Below that was J.B. McLellan, Nottingham. On the right hand side of the case (as one sits at the piano was the serial number 30585. On the left hand side of the case, again as one sits at the piano, was JBMcL 1183. Does anyone have information about this manufacturer, and when the instrument might have been built?
