Grand knuckle material

It seems to me that graphite grease is powdered graphite mixed with
petroleum jelly; yes, no?
Protek is 'space-age polymers' mixed with petroleum jelly; yes, no?

So the Protek will act as the graphite and become a hard solid mess,
ultimately leaving a jack and balancier impression; yes, no?

I would venture a guess that the knuckles need replacement.

I have mixed the "One Puff" micro-fine powder with the liquid Protek
and applied it to the knuckles. The liquid is a vehicle for the powder.
This was done after a light sanding and brass brushing didn't have
enough of an effect.
