Murphy's Oil Soap equivalent reply

Down here a product commonly called "Steel Wool Wax" come in a can and is
the consistency of jelly.  When diluted with water on a steel wool pad or
other synthetic steel wool pad does a great job of removing any oil or
residue that may be on a finish.
I use it as a final rub on every finish I put on.
