Dear List,
     Here's another "beginners" question from an 18 year veteran.  On our
new S & S model D ( and on other pianos I've seen) around notes 54 - 55, 
There always seems to be problems in this area.  On this D, all three
strings of unison # 54 have a beat in them each of a different rate.  Note
55 on the other side of the break has similar oddities but not as bad. 
What is so mysterious about this area and why does there always seem to be
notes with false beats here, even on new pianos?
