Here's a puzzle that some of you may enjoy. As we all know, inharmonicity is usually discussed in terms of its effect when using electronic tuning aids. But suppose you went back in time 200 years. Using only the technology of the time, devise a demonstration of inharmonicity in an ordinary piano. You do not have to measure it precisely, just show that it is not zero. Can you do it?
