As I understand it, CA glue hardens in the absence of air. By using the accelerant, "kicker", or water, it seals out the air and allows it to harden. I sometimes use it to repair polyester finishes (clear). I put a drop on the area and blow on it (the moisture in my breath causes the glue to harden). Paul McCloud
