Dreams are great things. Everyone should have at least one. When the
day comes that someone actually invents a self-tuning and (hey, why
not?) self-regulating piano, you'll have plenty of time for your dreams.
You know, like about what you're going to do with the rest of your life,
now that piano technicians are obsolete and not needed annymore. Maybe
we could all turn to servicing the machines that look away our jobs,
although I don't think I could be trusted not to make a few critical
mal-adjustments now and then, just to prove that no lousy, stinking
machine will ever be able to replace the subjective, human element
in top-flight tuning, regulating and voicing work. IMHO, of course!
