How to become a Piano Technician

Caleb,
I responded to your other e-mail, the thought of a couple of things I
failed to mention.
First, when you're starting out, you will probably do a lot of tuning
for piano dealers (assuming that there are some in your area).
Generally, they pay somewhat less than what you could earn on your own,
but you have to start somewhere. Some piano dealers do hire technicians
full time - usually in the $20,000 to $30,000 range (depending on
experience, etc.), but some of the larger dealers will hire experienced
technicians at more like $30,000 to $40,000. Also, many universities
that have a lot of pianos will hire technicians full time. Salary
depends on experience (and their budget).

Hope all this gives you some good ideas.
