Dear list, I have encountered a situation outside the realm of my experience. Two bolts have broken at the pressure bar on a small vertical piano causing tuning instability. The holes in the plate, however, do not line up with the pieces remaining in the wood block, and thereby restrict extraction. Can the holes in the plate be made larger by a simple drilling act without causing risk to the plate? And if so, what type bit would work best? Sincerely, Keith A.
