Unfortunately for piano technicians, music schools really need to have so called "digitals" or electronic keyboards. BECAUSE, aren't the students there preparing for a career in music? Don't they have "keyboard proficiency" requirements? And those majoring in piano need to be able to play most keyboards, not only pianos. An audition for ANY musical (broadway type show), the keyboardist must also be proficient on electronic keyboards. When I was tuning for such shows there were at least two electronic keyboards in the pit in additon to the piano. (OK, "Aint Mis Behavin" is the execption) Watch and see if piano player is not replaced by "keyboardist" wanted. Anyone in the Musician Union,? comments on this would be appreciated. Most noteably "Music for young > children". Also many *commercial* music schools have *nothing else*. And > yes, even some private teacher are *recommending* the keyboard.
