Bob Davis >> It depends upon the effect of those errors. If the erroneous ET is really a Reverse-Well, it's detrimental to the music. If the ET errors actually fit the cycle of 5ths, it might well enhance the music. If the HT errors result in no real change in key "color", then they are no problem. If the error results in an overly wide 3rd or overly tempered 5th that is musically out of character for the temperament, then yes, errors in HT's are a problem too. The principal argument remains that those who insist upon ET and only ET can't have it both ways. They must be careful that their temperament meet very stringent standards or the position they take becomes hypocritical and bigoted. Bill
