First, is the problem confined to only one string out of the three that make up the tri-chord? Now, look very closely along the speaking length of the string and especially at the termination points. The smallest piece of sawdust, metal shavings, or chrome plating can make a lot of noise. Only 2 weeks ago I had a metallic buzz on a brand new fine-quality grand that turned out to be a glob of excess glue around a bridgepin. Z!
