"When I was a boy of 14, my father was so ignorant I could hardly stand to
have the old man around. But when I got to be 21, I was astounded at how
much the old man had learned in seven years." ~ Samuel L. Clemens ~

"The glory of sons is their fathers." ~Proverbs 17:6~

How many sons feel about their fathers:
"I knew wherever I was that you thought of me, and if I got in a tight
place you would come - if alive." ~William Tecumseh Sherman~ (In a letter
to Ulysses S. Grant)

James, I suspect you are more like your father than you think. When you
think you are like him (and have filled that shadow), you will seize to
grow.
"A man never discloses his own character so clearly as when he describes
another's" ~Jean Paul Richter~
(Especially his father's!) Happy Father's Day James!

One more.....
".....When I'd finally connect with the ball - oh, man, I knew I deserved
the hit. I'd be grinning all the way down the first-base line. I'd turn
to look at my father on the pitcher's mound. He'd take off his glove and
tuck it under his arm, and then clap for me. To my ears, it sounded like a
standing ovation at Yankee Stadium."
  ~ Beth Mullally ~

If you listen closely Jim, you can hear him clapping now!

Staying home in the mornings with my three youngsters this
summer....clapping.
