Greetings all, Another technician phoned me in regards to a 6'6" Hallet & Davis with the agraffe system on the bridges. Specifically, he wants me to go look at it with him for apprasial to rebuild in mind. He has seen it already, and says that the soundboard is for all intents, flat. Due to the poor condition of the bass strings & hammers, he can't tell if this no-crown condition is affecting the instrument, or is even normal, due to the fact the strings bear negatively through the agraffes on the bridge. Before I go to look at it in the next few days, who has experience with these beasts and what should we keep in mind re: rebuilding? Thanks, Rob Kiddell, Registered Piano Technician, PTG atonal@planet.eon.net
