 Greetings, 
    So,  Jim decides to unavail himself of the resources here because of a
list gremlin?   All lists seem to have at least one poster who acts like the
child that bangs a stick on the bars of a zoo cage and delights in maddening
the crowd,
    Leaving the list, in protest, is a mistake.  It means that one has allowed
another to dictate their actions; a weak position from which to regard
oneself, IMHO.  
    I would propose a far more effective way to deal with undesired
correspondence. You don't have to fight it, you don't have to debate it.  That
is simply adding fuel to a garbage fire.    
    Simply don't respond.
