Dear Larry and List, On two different occaisions I have had customers experience loss of tone in the piano due to airbourne contaminants. In both cases ( newer grands) a combination of inadequate ventilation from the kitchen area and cooking practices using lots of oils has been the culprit. Changes in the kitchen were made before the pianos were repaired. Regards, Dale Whitehead, RPT Franklin Piano Restorations
