>> >>Any ideas as to where to go from here??? >> >> >>Ed Carwithen >>John Day, OR i just had a similar problem on a M&H AA i am finishing up. i would have bet money that the buzz was comming from one spot on the soundboard. after banging around for over an hour i finally found out that the sound was comming from the sost. mech. i tightened screws and it was gone. i can't explain why i heard it on the soundboard in that one certain spot. i guess that was the section of the soundboard that "amplified" that particular frequency (ooo...there's that word again). first i noticed the buzz when i played g3. then when i moved the piano to get a better look i noticed the same sound buzzing as the casters rolled. later i found that i could tap some case parts with a rubber mallet and hear the sound again. i finally found the damn thing on the opposite end of the piano i started at. i guess the point of this story is that it could be any screw or glue joint anywhere on the piano. don't get stuck in one spot where you hear the noise, keep looking. what was it sherlock always said, eliminate the impossible and whatever is left, no matter how improbable, is the answer. or something like that. sorry i said damn, i got all worked up there. chris -Christopher D.
